Issues
Rocela were planning to move into an existing building on Heriot Watt Research park and needed to put in place a high speed link (100mb) back to Scolocate in order to gain access to its servers which were already hosted there as well as a connection to the internet.
Solution
Providing a 100Mb LES (LAN extension service) is a relatively standard product for most service providers these days as long as they have available fibre at both ends of the link. Thanks to the pre-installed dark fibre network into every building on the research park, ntl:Telewest business were able to pick up a fibre pair in the co-location building and therefore enable end to end connectivity from Rocela’s new building right back to Scolocate.
