Welcome to ATLAS
Project ATLAS provides the infrastructure to enable businesses at several locations across Scotland to access new advanced broadband and telecoms services over an optical fibre network.
ATLAS aims to ensure that Scotland has a world-class infrastructure which will serve the needs of Scottish businesses - not just today or tomorrow, but in the long term by delivering the most up to date optical fibre infrastructure to business parks.
ATLAS is funded by Scottish Enterprise and the European Union and asset managed by Atkins.
"We are delighted with our new flexible internet access service provided by brightsolid (formerly Scotland Online) across the Atlas infrastructure as we have effectively doubled our bandwidth for half the price. It also gives us the flexibility to implement VoIP and offer additional on-line services to our financial services industry stakeholders over the coming months and years."
Graham Mclachlan – Finance Manager, Origo
"We now have 10 times the bandwidth that we originally had which means we can now offer our customers a managed service which we couldn't do before. The system is very flexible and can be easily upgraded to support changing customer demands."
Dave Wells, MD, Computer Application Services (CAS )
"The benefits for us were that the Atlas based solution met the pressing business need, and we now have a very useful and flexible architectural piece in place that offers lots of potential. If you get the architectural pieces in place correctly everything else should follow."
Tim Wright Head of IT and Knowledge Management – ITI Scotland
